Helicopter · top speed 95 kt
UH-1H Huey
The classic. A light, quick helicopter with a 324-gallon bucket on a 100 ft line: the smallest load, the most trips.
Loadout
Bambi bucket
324 gallons
Fill: On a 100 ft line. Dunk it to fill in about 3 seconds, or power fill from shallow water in about 8. Stay under 15 kt.
Drop: The valve under the bucket releases a full load in 2.5 seconds.
Flying the Huey
Light and responsive. Slow down over water and lower the bucket in; let it settle under you before flying off.
With the bucket on, top speed is 95 kt. It trails behind you at speed, so give it a moment to swing back under before you drop.
Tips
- Use the creeks and small ponds near the fire. A short trip matters more than a big load.
- Good for catching spot fires before they grow.
The real Huey
The Bell UH-1 "Huey" is one of the most recognizable helicopters ever built, with its two-blade rotor and distinctive "wop-wop" sound. Many have worked fire seasons for decades with a bucket on a long line.
Light helicopters like the Huey carry small loads but can work close to the fire from small ponds, streams and dip tanks.
Dip & Drop isn't affiliated with any aircraft maker or operator. The model and paint are the game's own; numbers are tuned for play.
Where you'll fly it
The Huey isn't assigned to a graded fire, so take it up in Free Play, or hope the Daily Fire hands it to you.
