This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit dipanddrop.com or play Dip & Drop: Wildfire Pilot in your browser.

Your game progress

Your stars, ranks, settings, and logbook are saved locally in your browser using local storage.

This information stays on your device and is not automatically uploaded to our servers. You can choose to copy or share a backup code yourself.

Clearing your browser data, switching devices, or using a private browsing window may cause your progress to be lost.

Gameplay analytics

We collect limited gameplay statistics to understand how the game is played and identify opportunities to improve it.

These events may include:

• When a fire starts or finishes
• The aircraft used
• The outcome, stars earned, and completion time
• Acres burned
• General interest in a future mobile version of the game

Gameplay events use a randomly generated browser identifier instead of your name or email address. This identifier may allow us to recognize events from the same browser over time, but it is not intended to identify you personally.

When you select “Want to play on your phone?”, we record your interest along with a general device category, such as iPhone, Android, or computer.

Gameplay events are processed by PostHog, our analytics provider, using its United States infrastructure. As with other internet services, technical connection information, including IP addresses, may be processed when requests are delivered.

We use these statistics to improve gameplay, understand performance, and evaluate interest in future features. We do not use them for targeted advertising.

Your analytics choices

You can turn off optional gameplay analytics at any time through the in-game menu under About.

The game also respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals by not sending optional gameplay analytics when either signal is enabled.

Turning off analytics prevents new optional gameplay events from being sent. It does not necessarily delete events previously collected.

Website analytics

We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand general website traffic, such as page visits and performance.

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies to track visitors across websites or build advertising profiles.

Email notifications

If you voluntarily sign up for updates about Dip & Drop, we collect:

• Your email address
• The page where you signed up
• The country associated with your connection, as reported by Cloudflare
• The date and time of your sign-up

We use this information to send occasional updates about Dip & Drop, including announcements about future iPhone or Android versions.

Your subscription information is stored using Cloudflare services. We may use an email delivery provider to send messages on our behalf.

We do not sell your email address or provide it to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

You can unsubscribe using the link in our emails or request removal at info@dipanddrop.com.

Hosting and third-party services

The website and browser game are hosted using Cloudflare.

Cloudflare processes technical information, including IP addresses and standard web requests, to deliver the site, maintain performance, and protect against abuse.

The game also loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google may receive technical information, including your IP address.

These services handle information according to their applicable privacy practices.

Cookies and local storage

The game uses browser local storage to save your progress, preferences, and randomly generated analytics identifier.

The game does not intentionally set cookies for gameplay tracking or targeted advertising.

Local storage is separate from cookies, but can also store information between visits.

Children

Dip & Drop is designed for a general audience and is not specifically directed toward children under 13.

The browser game does not require an account or ask players to provide their name, email address, or contact information to play.

Limited gameplay analytics may involve browser identifiers, as explained above.

The email sign-up is intended for adults. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information, please contact us so we can review and address the request, including deleting information where appropriate.

How long we keep information

Game progress stored in your browser remains there until you or your browser removes it.

Email subscription information is kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion, except for limited records that may be necessary to honor your request or comply with applicable law.

Gameplay analytics are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to analyze and improve the game, subject to our analytics provider's configured retention settings.

Technical records may be retained by our service providers according to their applicable retention and security practices.

Your choices and privacy rights

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we maintain about you, as applicable under relevant privacy laws.

Because gameplay analytics use random browser identifiers rather than names or email addresses, we may not always be able to connect past gameplay events to a particular person.

You can disable future optional gameplay analytics in the game, clear locally stored game data through your browser, and unsubscribe from email notifications at any time.

Mobile apps

This policy describes the browser-based game and website. If native mobile versions are released, this policy will be updated, or additional privacy disclosures will be provided, to explain any different information practices.
